Richard Streitfeld

About Richard

I am a Certified Public Accountant with Aaronson Lavoie Streitfeld Diaz and Co in Cranston.  My practice focusses on small businesses and individuals trying to make a go of it in these very difficult times.  Many of us are abnormally stressed by financial matters -- I try to put my clients at ease, and our firm has a very relaxed -- but professional -- feel.

My passion is networking and beyond the important matters of tax prep, business planning and financial guidance I help people connect with other people and resources that can help them, often through social media.  I love doing this!

Our firm is also a specialist in non-profit accounting -- we are one of  the leading such firms in the state.  Recently I became involved as a mentor for "Social Venture Partners in Rhode Island" -- start-ups trying to make a difference.

I helped develop Rhode Island's first series of seminars on financial planning for same sex couples and was certified an "expert witness" in a major local civil liberties lawsuit.

I have begun appearing on Frank Coletta's Sunrise Business segment (NBC affiliate)  to speak about business topics.

From New York/Jersey and live in Providence's East Side.  Together with my wife and housemate we host the popular "soiree" "art party/open house" called "Rebel Headquarters "-- every other month.

I spent seven years living at and directing a Buddhist oganization.  As my values are imbued with Jewish ethics I have coined the phrase "zen mensch accountant" to describe myself.

But you may call me Rich.
