About Mel

Despite the spacey attitude and the easygoing nature, I actually have a few things that I'm passionate about.

*ADHD -- I was officially diagnosed with this when I was 19 years old and I still wonder how nobody has caught it before. It's a bit of a struggle but it's also quite a gift and I wish that people would see the positives of it more often instead of trying to give those who have this a scarlet letter of fail

*Animation -- Both anime and cartoons. I think of it more as a medium to tell a story regardless of the age it skews towards. A lot of folks think of animation as for kids only but it really isn't just for them. Just look at Pixar, Studio Ghibli, or to go old school; Tex Avery and Chuck Jones. I mean honestly, who didn't cry at the end of Toy Story 3?!

*1950s Comedy -- Your Show of Shows, Texaco Star Theatre, and Ernie Kovacs Show are fantastic. In fact one of the best sitcoms of all time was inspired by Your Show of Shows (the Dick Van Dyke show which actually remains fresh to this day). I'm a sucker for good comedy. I do also enjoy later stuff like some seasons of SNL, Conan O'Brien, Carol Burnett, and other stuff.

*Video Games -- Though I'm admittedly a Nintendo snob. I love to play video games and they help harness my attention span a little better. I'm an unabashed fan of the Kirby series since the tender age of 8 and have indeed gone through a Pokemon phase in middle school.
