Readers Choice: Who's Best For Your Feet?

Which salon or spa gives the best, most relaxing pedicures? Vote in our poll and defend your choice in the comments section below.

While some make regular "me-time" appointments, most of us have a hard time squeezing them into our hectic weekly schedules. So when we do get around to making an appointment, we want to know that the service is going to be worth our time and money. Pedicures are one of those treats. For those of you who love them, we want to know: which local spa offers the best pedicure service. Is it Salon By Sharon, Salon Rouge or Bi Design? How about St Pierre & St. Pierre or Mary Bouvier? Vote in our poll below, then share your thoughts in the comments section. If we left your favorite spot off the list, note that in the comments as well. We'll leave the poll up all week then close voting at 9 a.m. Friday. At noon that day, we'll share your top …

Actually I think a franchise wins on french fries. And my choice is Chili's. The one I visit is next to Lincoln Mall in Lincoln, RI. I assume all other Chili's locations make their fries the same? I hope so. Maybe somebody knows if they do.   more ›

You Pick: Best Fries in Narragansett

We need to know who makes the best fry in town.

We eat a lot of French fries in our lifetime, and after awhile, they all start to taste the same – a little salty, slightly crispy, decent after a dip in ketchup. But when you're served an extra special platter of fries, you know it. Maybe it's because they're hand-cut or extra crispy. Or it's because they're curly or covered in cracked black pepper. Whatever it is, you know when they stand out because they become more than just a side order. They become the main enjoyment of the meal.  Everyone has their opinion about who serves up the best local fries. What's yours? Do you find yourself craving Crazy Burger, Marko’s or Riptides? Or maybe it's one of the town’s pizza places, like Leo’s or Kingston? We want to hear your thoughts on which …

Patch Readers Choose State's Most Reliable Mechanics

This week's Patch "Best of" poll focuses on businesses we don't often want to encounter: auto repair shops.

From oil changes to body repair to engine breakdowns, we all have occasion to require the service of a car mechanic. But which should you choose? If you're like most drivers, you know how to operate a car, but know little of the car's operation. How then can you possibly know whether a mechanic is correct and truthful when he tells you what's wrong with your vehicle and how much it's going to cost you to get back on the road? Patch wanted to help readers find the best, most reliable auto mechanics around. Throughout Rhode Island, Patch polled readers to find out where's the best place to take a car for service. After five days of voting, the winners are in. Check out who won below and let us know which you think is best in the comment …

Best Auto Shop: And The Winner Is…

You voted and commented, so we tallied them up, and the winner is…

With 30 of a total of 52 votes, the winner for the Best Auto Shop in Narragansett is… Other! Congrats! … Well, wait, that doesn’t work. For some unknown reason, people (or a poll bot) really seemed to enjoy voting for the Other category. Nobody actually volunteered a nomination for “other” though, so I’m going to award the title to the two shops in a tie for second place, Coastline Collision and Mike’s Service and Auto Body. Congrats to both shops! Next week, our poll category is a bit more tasty – Who has the best French fries in town? Please send your nominations to Stephen.greenwell@patch.com, or Narragansett@patch.com. Want to be e-mailed when we have a new Best Of story? Click the “keep me posted” button below!

Patch Readers Pick Advanced Auto Body

Northup's and Pierce Imports came in second and third in Patch's "Best of" poll.

The results are in and it's a landslide for Advanced Auto Body, Inc., named the best, most reliable mechanic in town in South Kingstown Patch's "Best of" poll. Advanced Auto Body garnered 62 percent of the vote to run away with the prize, also collecting a number of positive reviews from enthusiastic customers. "Have used Advanced Auto Body a number of times," wrote Patch reader RITwins. "Thier staff is friendly and always takes the time to explain the repair and answer any questions. Prices are fair and work is completed in a timely manner. I would recommend AAB for Auto Body repair and even the most common car fixes such as oil changes and routine maintenance." Pierce Imports and Northup's Imported Car Service battled it out for second…

You Pick: Best Auto Shop In Narragansett

Vote in this week's poll and defend your choice in the comments section below. Then check back Friday for the winner.

Unless you already have a reliable mechanic, finding a place to get your car repaired can be a nerve-wracking experience. It's often expensive, and you're almost always left wondering if you got the best deal (or if the repair was even necessary). Word of mouth is one way to find someone trustworthy, and that's why this week's "Best Of" poll wants you to voice your opinion on the best car repair shop in Narragansett. We want to hear your thoughts on which local spot is the best place to get your wheels back on the road. For this poll, we only listed businesses in Narragansett. While we realize there are plenty of good car repair places across the state, we did have seven in our directory listing, so we limited the choices to town mechanics…
