Postal Service Keeping Saturday Delivery

The postal service had planned to end Saturday delivery, but won't now, according to the Associated Press.

The United States Postal Service says it will "back down," on its plan to end Saturday mail delivery, according to the Associated Press Twitter feed. The U.S. Congress forced the Postal Service to cancel its plans, according to the AP. The postal service had planned to end Saturday mail delivery by Aug. 1 as part of its large plan to deal with its large debts. "Congress has prohibited implementation of a new national delivery schedule for mail and packages, which would consist of package delivery Monday through Saturday and mail delivery Monday through Friday, and which would have taken effect the week of Aug. 5, 2013," the USPS Board of Governors said in a statement.  The Board also said, as part of the Post Service's five-year recovery …

They can be used on a letter of 1 ounce or less, and they are the same price of a regular stamp.   Here …

Nobody likes to pay more, but, regardless of what one thinks of USPS service, it's still pretty economical and somewhat efficient--since the days of the Pony Express, anyway. Is tracking free for first class, because I've been paying for it this past week.   more ›
