URI Assistant V-Ball Coach Charged With DWI

According to South Kingstown police, URI volleyball assistant coach Brendan Kerr showed signs of intoxication following a car accident.

Unless otherwise noted, information about the following incidents was supplied by the South Kingstown Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction. Brendan Kerr, 26, of 16 Onondega Road, Narragansett, was arrested at about 1:48 a.m. on Nov. 22 and charged with drunken driving. Police said Kerr is an assistant woman’s volleyball coach at the University of Rhode Island. According to police, they received a report of a single-car crash on Narragansett Avenue East. The accident was reported by a 29-year-old Massachusetts woman. Police said the driver of the wrecked car – Kerr – claimed to have swerved to avoid hitting a man walking in the middle of the road.
