Is Social Networking A Benefit While At School?

Although social networking and I have our differences, it doesn't mean I can't devote a column to it. If you find yourself on Facebook and Twitter more often than sleeping, it's time to sort our your priorities.

Social networking and I don’t get along. I’ve never really seen the point of it other than as a tool to advertise oneself harder than an election ad in October. Social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter can be useful to connect to family and friends if separated by a distance. Being about 900 miles from Narragansett, I can see the rationale in that, but it’s not enough to convince me. All right, enough of my blabbering about the dissension of social networking. Today’s task is going to be especially difficult but I’m up for a challenge – Ready for some advice on how to stay connected back home from a social media outsider? Then let’s dig in.
