SK Police Log: October 31, 2012

Police charge a North Kingstown man with violating five no-contact orders on the way to court.

Unless otherwise noted, information about the following incidents was supplied by the South Kingstown Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction. On Way to Court, Man Charged With Five Domestic Felonies Keith W. Mongillo, 34, of 60 George Ave., North Kingstown, was arrested at about 9:25 a.m. on Oct. 31 and charged with five counts of violating a protective order. The charges were all elevated to felonies because of past offenses. According to police, they received a report from a Cranston couple that Mongillo had attempted to run them off the road, and also sworn at them. The couple told police that they and several children in the car all had no-contact orders with Mongillo. Police said a background check confirmed that …

Police cite a South Kingstown man twice for drinking within 24 hours.

South Kingstown Man Charged With Drunken Driving, Weapons Possession; Police Also Cite Previous Night Armindo J. Medina, 60, of 624 Curtis Corner Road, South Kingstown, was arrested at about 10 p.m. on Aug. 31 and charged with drunken driving and possession of a weapon other than a firearm, and also cited for refusing to submit to a chemical test. At about 4:12 a.m., an officer noted a gold Chevrolet parked in a handicap space in their lot. Honestly they did him a favor the first time by only charging him with public drunkenness and not a DUI. Your car does not need to be on nor do you have to be awake to receive a DUI. Being in the drivers seat means he was in physical control of the vehicle and that would have been enough to do him in right there.
