Teen to Officer: How Does It Feel Making $15k?

Reinemann, 19, of 108 Taylor Mills Road, Manalapan, NJ, was arrested at about 5:41 a.m. on May 5 and charged with drunken driving, and cited for speeding, transportation of alcohol by a minor and refusing to submit to a chemical test. According to police, an officer on Kingstown Road near Main Street clocked a silver BMW at 53 miles per hour in a 25 mile per hour zone. A traffic stop was made on Old Mountain Field Road. Should DUI Limit Be Lowered To 0.05?

The National Transportation Safety Board recommends reducing the limit. Some say it would save lives. Others say it's unreasonable.

One drink could be the standard for drunken driving – at least for some people if the National Transporation Safety Board has its way. On Tuesday, the NTSB recommended states lower the blood-alcohol threshold for driving under the influence from 0.08 percent to 0.05 percent. What do you think? Is the proposal reasonable? About 10,000 deaths a year are related to drunken driving. The NTSB says the lower limit would save 500 to 800 lives a year. Officials at the American Beverage Institute called the proposal "ludicrous." It said the average woman could reach the 0.05 percent limit by having one drink. There were 24 drunken driving fatalities in Rhode Island in 2012, which were 34 percent of traffic-related fatalities last year, according to…

Woman Charged With Stabbing Boyfriend

A South Kingstown woman is charged with felony assault after her boyfriend is treated for a stab wound. South Kingstown police logs from May 1 and May 2, 2013.

SK Woman Charged With Stabbing Boyfriend Ashley Marie Brennick, 22, of 597 Middlebridge Road, South Kingstown, was arrested at about 8:52 a.m. on May 2 and charged with domestic felony assault. According to police, emergency personnel at South County Hospital reported that a 27-year-old South Kingstown man had been stabbed by an unknown person. Police said that when the man and Brennick were questioned, both said someone had broken into their home, and stabbed the man. Narragansett Man Charged With Shooting Unlicensed Handgun Robert Edward Kidder, 68, of 36 Flintstone Road, Narragansett, was arrested at about 12:23 p.m. on April 30 and charged with firing a handgun in a compact area and assault. Kidder was also charged with a felony count of carrying a handgun without a license or permit. According to police, they received a report of shots fired on Route 2. Peacedale Man Arrested for Warrant Marshall S. Rounseville, 34, of 72 Samuel Rodman St., Peacedale, was arrested at about 11:39 p.m. on April 29. Police said a Fourth Division District Court warrant was out for Rounseville’s arrest. According to police, they received a report of a disturbance outside of a home on Middlebridge Road. Johnston Woman Charged With DUI Following Accident Lauren E. Hauser, 25, of 111 George St., Johnston, was arrested at about 10:51 p.m. on April 27 and charged with drunken driving. According to police, they received a report of a car driven by Hauser hitting the back of another car while it was stopped at a traffic light on Route 1 near All Outdoors. Man Sentenced to Probation For 28th Arrest

Harold Weeden, 47, pleads no contest to a crack cocaine possession charge in February, his 28th court case.

Harold Weeden, 47, of 188A High St., South Kingstown, pleaded no contest on Feb. 20 to a South Kingstown police charge of felony drug possession of crack cocaine. Weeden was ordered to serve an 18-month suspended sentence and 18 months of probation, to complete substance abuse counseling and to pay $788 in assessments. Harpool, 24, of 149 Hamilton Ave., Jamestown, was arrested at about 8:20 p.m. on April 10 and charged with felony drug distribution and two counts of felony drug possession. According to police, officers working a security detail at the Day Glow concert saw Harpool conduct a hand-to-hand sale with an unknown man in the Plains Road parking lot.
