Police: A drunk driver tells them that “God is gonna take care of you,” plus other alcohol issues stemming from New Year’s Eve.

Alleged Drunken Driver: God Will Take Care Of Police Wayne Everett, 42, of 2030 Kingstown Road, South Kingstown, was arrested at about 3:29 a.m. on Jan. 1 and charged with drunken driving. According to police, an officer noted a green Jeep Cherokee driven by Everett at a high rare of speed on Kingstown Road. Police said a radar reading wasn’t obtained, but Everett was swerving and made a right-hand turn on to High Street without a signal. Police said a traffic stop was made on High Street as a result.
