Man Sentenced to Probation For 28th Arrest

Harold Weeden, 47, pleads no contest to a crack cocaine possession charge in February, his 28th court case.

Harold Weeden, 47, of 188A High St., South Kingstown, pleaded no contest on Feb. 20 to a South Kingstown police charge of felony drug possession of crack cocaine. Weeden was ordered to serve an 18-month suspended sentence and 18 months of probation, to complete substance abuse counseling and to pay $788 in assessments. According to South Kingstown police reports included in court files, police initially arrested Weeden after hours at Old Mountain Field in July 2011. Suspect to Girlfriend: ‘See You In A Couple of Years!’

David Harpool, 24, tells his girlfriend, “See you in a couple of years!” at the time of his arrest, police say.

Harpool, 24, of 149 Hamilton Ave., Jamestown, was arrested at about 8:20 p.m. on April 10 and charged with felony drug distribution and two counts of felony drug possession. According to police, officers working a security detail at the Day Glow concert saw Harpool conduct a hand-to-hand sale with an unknown man in the Plains Road parking lot. As a result, police said they approached Harpool and asked him what was in a backpack in his car. Larceny, B+E Investigation Leads to Felony Pot Arrest

According to South Kingstown police, an investigation into a breaking and entering leads to the discovery of a marijuana grow at another home.

Bernard Charest, 47, of 167 Usquepaugh Road, South Kingstown, was arrested at about 12:57 p.m. on March 19 and charged with felony counts of breaking and entering, and larceny. According to police, they received a report of a break-in at a home on South County Trail. Police said the home was broken in to at some point between March 3 and March 10. It is not lived in, but contained several family heirlooms. A fraudulent purchase of a foot-tall glass water pipe led to the raid of an apartment shared by University of Rhode Island students on Feb. 6, South Kingstown police said. According to police, they received a report of a stolen Mastercard, which was used by Opeyemi N. Onipede, 19, of 35 Stansbury St., Providence, at Absolut Market on Fortin Road to purchase the pipe. Providence Man Charged With Felony Drug Distribution

South Kingstown police arrest Justin Blake Hart, 23, after he allegedly sells heroin to an informant.

Unless otherwise noted, information about the following incidents was supplied by the South Kingstown Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction. Justin Blake Hart, 23, of 119 Almy St., Apt. #3, Providence, was arrested at about 9:30 p.m. on Feb. 19 and charged with two counts of felony heroin distribution. According to police, at about 4:15 p.m. they received a tip from an informant that Hart would be coming into town at 9 p.m. to sell heroin. Police said that Hart already had a warrant out for his arrest because of a controlled heroin buy conducted by the department on Nov. 27. Suspended Sentence Issued for Felony Drug Plea

Howard Courtemanche, 28, is ordered to serve two years probation and a two-year suspended sentence for various cocaine offenses.

Howard Courtemanche, 28, of 604 Stony Fort Road, North Kingstown, pleaded no contest on Jan. 23 to South Kingstown police charges of felony cocaine distribution and driving with an invalid license. Courtemanche was ordered to serve a year of probation and a year-long suspended sentence, to complete substance abuse counseling and to pay $1,059 in fines and assessments. In return for his plea, additional charges of felony drug distribution near school grounds, felony drug possession and possession of marijuana were dismissed. Two Pleas Filed for Drug Offenses

Two cases involving felony drug charges are downgraded following pleas by the defendants.

You can review them at the McGrath Judicial Complex. - Joseph Stand, 30, of 710 Gravelly Hill Road, South Kingstown, pleaded no contest on Jan. 28 to a Narragansett police charge of violating the substances act. Stand was ordered to pay $208 in assessments. In return for his plea, the charge was downgraded from felony drug possession. The charges stemmed from an arrest on Feb. 19, 2012. According to Narragansett police reports included in court files, at about 4:31 p.m. police made a traffic stop on Stand’s car after seeing him driving with no seatbelt, and at 55 miles per hour in a 45 mile per hour zone on Point …

Charlestown Man Charged With Possession of Cocaine

According to South Kingstown police, Carl R. Gross, 52, was found with cocaine after a traffic stop when his van was swerving.
