Felony Assault Plea Over Irish, Scottish Debate

Kyle Andrews, 33, is ordered to serve eight years probation after pleading to punching a man in the face.

Andrews, 33, now of San Antonio, TX, and formerly of 215 Silver Lake Ave., South Kingstown, pleaded no contest on April 15 to a South Kingstown police charge of felony assault. Andrews was ordered to serve eight years probation and an eight-year suspended sentence, and to pay $550 in assessments. A no-contact order is in place between Andrews and the victim for about 10 years. Andrews was a member of the Army at the time of his arrest. Narragansett Man Faces Felony Charge After Punching Officer

A Narragansett man is charged with felony assault after allegedly punching an officer in the face outside of Old Mountain Lanes.

Unless otherwise noted, information about the following incidents was supplied by the South Kingstown Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction. Justin M. Dobruck, 31, of 1157 Point Judith Road, Narragansett, was arrested at about 9:35 p.m. on March 17 and charged with felony assault – striking a police officer – and misdemeanor offenses of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. According to police, they received a report of Dobruck acting belligerent at Old Mountain Lanes, screaming, yelling and preventing people from exiting the building. Husband, Wife Charged With Domestic Offenses Joseph R. Miller, 52, of 52 Petal Lane, South Kingstown, was arrested at about 8:11 a.m. on Dec. 6 and charged with domestic assault and domestic disorderly conduct. His wife, Melanie J. Boylan, 50, of 52 Petal Lane, South Kingstown, was arrested at about 12:58 p.m. on Dec. 6 and charged with domestic disorderly conduct. According to police, warrants were issued for both following an incident on Nov. 30. Details of this incident were not included in police reports of the two’s arrest. North Kingstown Man Charged With Felony Assault Jacob M. McDonald, 21, of 123 Sweet Lane, North Kingstown, was arrested at about 10:20 a.m. on Aug. 20 and charged with felony assault. According to police, a warrant for McDonald’s arrest was issued after significant injuries from an assault on Oct. 29, 2011. Details of this assault were not included in the arrest report, but the victim is allegedly a 19-year-old man from Warwick. Police said McDonald turned himself in on Aug. 20, although he did not know why he was being arrested, allegedly. Police told him the detective in charge…

Narragansett Man Charged With Felony Assault

Peter Lindley, 20, is being held at the ACI following his seventh arrest in a little more than two years.

Unless otherwise noted, information about the following incidents was supplied by the South Kingstown Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction. Peter Lindley, 20, of 29 Tupelo Trail, Narragansett, was arrested at about 8:04 a.m. on Aug. 14 and charged with felony assault. According to police, the charge against Lindley stems from an assault at Old Mountain Field on June 10. Lindley allegedly used his hands and/or feet to significantly injure a 19-year-old Peacedale man. Details of the initial incident were not included in Lindley’s arrest report. Reggae Night Assault Leads to Felony Arrests

According to police, a fight over dancing at Reggae Night led to an assault with beer bottles.

Alcenat, 26, of 164 Broad St., Apt. #2, Norwich, CT, and Jimmy Jean-Baptiste, 23, of 111 North St., Norwich, CT, were arrested at about 12:25 a.m. on July 25 and charged with felony assault with a dangerous weapon. According to police, a patrolman monitoring the bar at the Ocean Mist was alerted to a fight by the dance floor at about 12:07 a.m. Police said the victim was quickly found, and he had a severe laceration on his face near his lip. Peacedale Man Charged For Allegedly Flashing Gun

James B. Brennan, 65, is accused of threatening two men with a gun after his rocks hit their truck while he was mowing his lawn.

Brennan, 65, of 231 Curtis Corner Road, Peacedale, was arrested at about 5:49 p.m. on July 25 and charged with felony assault. According to police, they were called to a home on Curtis Corner Road after receiving a 911 call. The caller told a dispatcher that an elderly man had pointed a gun at them. Police said that when they arrived, they saw Brennan sitting on a stone wall, and a green truck parked in his driveway with two men in it. Providence Man Severely Assaulted at Kingston Emporium

According to South Kingstown police, the severe beating of a 22-year-old Providence man at the Kingston Emporium remains open.

At about 12:58 a.m. on June 23, South Kingstown police responded to the Kingston Emporium after receiving a report of a severe beating to a 22-year-old Providence man. According to police, the man was on the sidewalk of Fortin Road near Quizno’s and the International Zone. He said that while walking with his girlfriend, he had been attacked by two or three men for no known reason. The girlfriend had not noticed the assault, but was the first to discover the victim. Police said she was crying hysterically. Police said the victim had significant damage to his face – his left eye was swollen completely shut, his nose was broken, and he had swollen and lacerated lips.
