Vanilla Bean Thief Pleads to Charge

Police catch Joseph Bianco, 24, for a robbery at the Vanilla Bean after his apartment burns down in Narragansett.

Joseph Bianco, 24, now of 2015 Birch St., Scotch Plains, NJ, and formerly of 56 Meadowrue Trail, Narragansett, and 108 Boon St., Narragansett, pleaded no contest on March 19 to a South Kingstown police charge of breaking and entering into the Vanilla Bean in August 2011. Bianco was ordered to pay $450 in assessments, and a deferred sentence was imposed. According to South Kingstown police reports included in court files, in August 2011 someone broke into the Vanilla Bean while it was closed. I guess I must be hallucinating. I have memories of seeing fire dept. personel (routinely) saving pets from fires and from falls through thin ice on news segments. 'Most agencies'? Wakefield Woman Pleads to NK Credit Card Theft

Lisa St. Laurent, 31, is ordered to pay restitution and assessments in return for her plea.

Lisa St. Laurent, 31, now of 304 Shannock Road, Wakefield, and formerly of 42 Ranger Road, North Kingstown, pleaded no contest on March 18 to a North Kingstown police felony charge of obtaining money under false pretenses. St. Laurent was ordered to pay restitution and $450 in assessments, after being rejected for diversion. A deferred sentence was also imposed. A restitution hearing will be held in front of a magistrate in the future. SK Pair Charged With Elderly Abuse

Joshua Champlin, 28, and Merry-Belle Champlin, 50, are charged with neglecting the care of a 78-year-old family member.

Unless otherwise noted, information about the following incidents was supplied by the South Kingstown Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction. Joshua Champlin, 28, and Merry-Belle Camplin, 50, both of 42 Zinns Drive, South Kingstown, were arrested at about noon on March 18 and each charged with a single count of elderly abuse, a felony. According to South Kingstown police and investigators from the state’s Department of Elderly Affairs, the abuse took place from Aug. 9, 2011 to Oct. 9, 2011. Police said that during that time, Joshua and Merry-Belle served as daily caretakers for a 78-year-old female family member. NK Man Sentenced To Year For Domestic Offenses

Keith Mongillo, 35, is ordered to serve a year at the ACI after pleading no contest to repeatedly violating a no-contact order.

Keith Mongillo, 35, of 60 Georgia Ave., North Kingstown, pleaded no contest on March 8 to a North Kingstown police felony charge of violating a no-contact order. Mongillo was ordered to serve a year at the ACI, retroactive to Oct. 31, 2012, followed by four years probation and a four-year suspended sentence. Mongillo was also ordered to pay $575 in assessments and to complete domestic abuse counseling. Narragansett Man Charged With Sexual Assault

According to police, a local teenager is accusing Richard Tomlinson, 48, of sexually assaulting her repeatedly when she was 11.

Information on this arrest was culled from files at South Kingstown Police Department, Narragansett Police Department and Washington County Superior Court. Richard D. Tomlinson Jr., 48, of 908 Boston Neck Road, Apt. #16, Narragansett, was arrested at about 4:01 p.m. on March 10. Narragansett police said a warrant was out for Tomlinson’s arrest. According to the charges filed at Washington County Superior Court, Tomlinson faces four felony charges – three counts of second degree child molestation, and one count of first degree child molestion. South Kingstown police said that in October 2012, a 19-year-old North Kingstown woman filed a report claiming that Tomlinson had molested her several times. 4 URI Students Charged With Possession, Fraud

Four URI students face either felony drug or fraud charges, following a search of their dorm on Wednesday.

According to a press release issued by the South Kingstown Police Department on Thursday morning, four University of Rhode Island students were arrested on Wednesday for various drug and fraud charges. Police listed the four as: According to Det. Sgt. Alfred Bucco, who prepared the release, more charges are expected to be filed at a future date. Police said the arrests were made after a search warrant was executed for 15 Upper College Road. Leonardo, Gonzales and Onipede are all connected with a media brand, RoundTableRT. Gonzales and Onipede are listed on the staff page as of Thursday afternoon, and Leonardo helped promote their events and radio show via his Twitter.
