SK Police Log: January 27 and 28, 2013

A Providence man turns himself in on car theft charges, police said.

Unless otherwise noted, information about the following incidents was supplied by the South Kingstown Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction. Providence Man Turns Self In For Car Theft Eric Butler, 42, of 208 Prarie Ave., Providence, was arrested at about 10:35 a.m. on Jan. 28 and charged with larceny greater than $1,500 – a 2009 grey Hyundai Accent. According to police, on Dec. 28 they received a report of a car stolen from the Xtra Mart on Tower Hill Road. Police said that after an investigation, Butler was identified as a suspect. Police said that they interviewed Butler about the theft on Jan. 28. Police said that Butler told them that following an argument with his wife outside of Bobby G’s, he took a walk and saw…
