Police Searching for Rx Fraud Suspect

According to Narragansett police, they’re looking for a man that got two prescriptions filled for 120 tablets of Oxycodone.

Unless otherwise noted, information about the following incidents was supplied by the Narragansett Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction. According to the Rhode Island Most Wanted website, Narragansett Police are attempting to identify a male suspect who fraudulently obtained prescriptions on two occasions from the same pharmacy. Both incidents took place at the Rite Aid on Woodruff Avenue in Narragansett. The first theft allegedly took place on Dec. 11 at 2:49 p.m., followed by a second on Dec. 15. In both thefts, the male suspect presented false prescriptions for 120 tablets (30 mg) of Oxycodone. Narragansett Police Captain Sean Corrigan confirmed that the case remains open. Two Pounds of Pot Found at Home of URI Students

Police said marijuana, Adderall and cash were found after executing a search warrant at a Sea Lea Drive home on Wednesday morning.

According to a release by Narragansett Police Detective Lieutenant Sean Corrigan, officers seized two pounds of marijuana and Adderall pills at 10 Sea Lea Drive after serving a search warrant at 6:50 a.m. Wednesday. The tenants were identified as Luke Rathbone, 22, Scott Saypol, 21, and Dylan Campagna, 20. All three were charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, a felony. Saypol was also charged with felony possession of a controlled substance (Adderall). Rathbone and Campagna are being held without bail, pending a status hearing on March 14. According to police, Saypol agreed to enhanced bail conditions, and his bail was set at $30,000 with surety. However, he had not posted it as of Thursday morning. According to the …

Living in our close-knit, seaside community is full of benefits, especially when it comes to getting to know the good folks who work here in town.

When you see police cruisers pass you by with flashing lights, or perhaps notice them taking radar in a remote parking lot, you probably breathe a sigh of relief when you realize you’re not the one being chased or pulled over.  But did you ever stop and think about what these men and women who proudly wear a police badge do to protect our community on a daily basis? Meet Detective Lieutenant Sean Corrigan, a member of the Narragansett Police Department for the past 15 years and a resident of the community since 2001.  He knew becoming a police officer was going to be his chosen career because his older brother, who is 20 years older, was an officer.
