Patch readers picked their favorite store to stock up for those summer BBQs. Check out the winners throughout RI and southeastern Mass.

The unofficial start of summer — Memorial Day — is only a week away. Time to break out the BBQ pit and kick back in the yard with your favorite frosty beverage by your side. Feel an ice-cold beer? How about a nice glass of whiskey to enjoy with a cigar? Maybe a refreshing vodka-tonic or pino grigio? Whatever's your liquid vice of choice, you probably have a go-to package store to stock up. Patch wanted to help readers decide where to head to find the best selection, best prices or best service of all the liquor stores around. We asked readers throughout the state which store in their town is best. After five days of voting, the winners are in. Best Liquor Store – Sweeney’s Wine and Spirits

Sweeney’s Wine and Spirits is your choice for best liquor store in South Kingstown and Narragansett.

In one of our closest Readers’ Choice votes, Sweeney’s narrowly edges out Pier Liquors, O’Neil’s, Schwabby’s and Wakefield Liquors. Sweeney’s captured 28 percent of the vote, which was spread amongst eight choices this week. Pier Liquors was in second with 20 percent of the vote. We’re taking next week off for Readers’ Choice, in honor of, um… Chilean Navy Day, of course. Yeah, that’s the ticket. Readers’ Choice: Best Liquor Store

Vote on which local liquor store is your go-to for all your beer, wine and/or liquor needs.

You might not know it from the March-like weather Rhode Island experienced last week, but the unofficial start of summer — Memorial Day — is only a couple weeks away. That means it's time to break out the BBQ pit, stock the freezer with grillable meats and — of course — fill the fridge with your favorite adult beverages. Maybe you want to cool down with an ice-cold beer, relax on the deck with a refreshing vodka-tonic, or fill your glass with your favorite red or white wine. Whatever you crave, there is no shortage of package stores in the area to supply you with your favorite spirit. Just about any liquor store will carry plenty of Jack Daniels, Absolut, Sam Adams and a typical assortment of table wines. But any true connoisseur knows it'…

Best Flowers – Belmont Market

The marketplace earns the most votes and comments, earning it the Readers’ Choice distinction.

With 143 votes and a slew of comments, Belmont Market is the winner of this week’s Readers’ Choice for best flowers. Belmont’s edges out the Kenyon Avenue Floral Company, which had almost as many poll votes – 101 – but not as many comments in support. The marketplace is centrally located, on Kingstown Road at the Dale Carlia Shopping Center in South Kingstown. In addition to flowers, Belmont’s has a healthy selection of organic goods, since it is, you know, a marketplace. Later today, we’ll have a preview article up for next week’s Readers’ Choice – Best Spot for Mother’s Day Brunch. We’ll be taking nominations, so if you have a favorite spot for that you definitely want included, send it to Stephen.greenwell@patch.com. Want to be e-mailed…

Readers' Choice: Best Florist

Who's your favorite in town?

If a woman in your life says "don't bother buying me flowers," you're probably better off doing it anyway. Why? Because no matter how traditional of a gift they are, flowers are an immediate pick-me-up. They're fresh, colorful and quite the pleasant surprise. That said, you can't give just any flowers. (Forgo the carnations and don't even think about picking a few out of the front lawn.) Make it a bouquet, the bigger the better. Roses always win. Luckily, there are dedicated local florists who can help you get it right. This week, we want to know: Which florist in town is your favorite? Vote in our poll below, then share your thoughts in the comments section. If we left your favorite florist off the list, note that in the comments as well…
