Narragansett Police: Unwelcome Barfly

The following is based on reports from the Narragansett Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

David Joseph Cheatham, 22, of 1920 S. Club Drive, Wellington, FL, was charged with disorderly conduct and possession of prescription drugs on May 18 after officers were called to Pancho O’Malleys pub for reports of a fight in progress. Cheatham had reportedly been kicked out of the pub for provoking fights with other customers and was allegedly threatening the doorman when police arrived. A quick investigation revealed Cheatham had already been kicked out of nearby Perry’s Bar & Grill and the Mariner Grille for similar behavior, according to reports. He allegedly mentioned having a gun at both bars. Officers found no gun, but allegedly found five Adderall pills for which Cheatham had no prescription. Cleanin' Them Out Patrick John Lepore…

Narragansett Police Log: Party On

The following is based on reports form the Narragansett Police department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

The Narragansett Police Department made the following arrests: William H. Minty and Karen Minty, of 42 Prospect Ave., Narragansett, were charged on May 19 with violating the Social Host law after allegedly hosting a party at which high school students were drinking. Officers were called to 42 Prospect Ave. for a report of a loud party. The found about 20 Narragansett High School students celebrating their junior prom in the backyard. Officers asked Karen Minty, who live at the home, to keep the noise down and said there would be no problem as long as alcohol isn’t being served to the teens. Karen Minty, however, refused to answer whether there was alcohol at the underage party, according to reports, prompting officers to search the …

SK Police Log: Combative Driver Charged with DUI

The following is based on reports from the South Kingstown Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Kaan P. Kurt, 21, of 93 Circuit Drive, Narragansett, was charged with driving under the influence on May 15 after he reportedly hit a pole on Moonstone Beach Road and became combative with rescue personnel. Officers responded to the single-car accident at the intersection with Mill Pond Road at about 1:30 a.m. to find Kurt’s Honda CRV had hit a telephone pole hard enough to deploy both front seat airbags. Kurt initially said his name was Kyle and said he didn’t know how he ended up on the roadway, according to reports. Kurt, who had a cut across his forehead, responded inconsistently and kept his eyes closed during questioning, according to reports. Hulk Smash? Getting arrested can be an incredibly angering experience for some. For one New Jersey man, the rage that followed his arrest could be described as…Hulk-ish?  Smithfield police arrested a 21-year-old man on DUI charges after he had allegedly crashed his car into a tree. At the police station, the man took a Breathalyzer test, then allegedly stood up from his chair, walked over to the sink and tore it from the wall, breaking the pipes attaching it. Cars: Not Meant For Ice Skating While most have been cursing this week’s weather, one Woonsocket woman is grateful for these subfreezing temperatures. According to police, the 52-year-old woman was attempting to turn right on to what she thought was a road during her morning commute. Something “went wrong,” causing her to drive down a bank and onto a frozen pond. Because Rhode Island has been as cold as the planet Hoth this week, the ice was thick enough to support the car, and crews were able to tow it off the ice without a problem. Baby on Board for Bank Robbery This East Providence mother probably won’t be in the running for “Mom of the Year” any time soon. According to EP police, the 34-year-old woman robbed a credit union last week. She was wearing a wig and allegedly claimed to have a bomb. The woman reportedly took off in a red pick-up truck before being caught by police three hours later. During this whole ordeal, the woman’s three-year-old child was reportedly in the getaway car. One-Legged Bandit Robs Garage This is a first for OMG PD: an allegeld one-legged robber. According to Cranston police, a man with one leg who uses crutches broke into a garage through a rear window. SK Police Log: April 4 to April 9, 2012

The following incident reports are based solely on information provided by the South Kingstown Police Department and describes their actions from April 4 to April 9, 2012. These reports do not indicate a conviction.

SOUTH KINGSTOWN – Narragansett Police arrested two local teenagers on Saturday, April 7 around 11:30 p.m. after finding them in possession of a black 2002 Nissan Altima that was stolen from Old Mountain Lanes the previous night. After bowling with friends on Friday night, a 17-year-old South Kingstown boy reported his car was missing from the bowling alley parking lot at around 1:06 a.m. on Saturday. According to South Kingstown Police reports, the two teens arrested, Alexander X. Blunt, 18, of 73 Wright Ave., and Angelo E. Fraley, 19, of 121 Old Shannock Road, Charlestown, were seen on video surveillance inside of Old Mountain Lanes. Just Let Love In, Lady One Narragansett teen’s drunken profession of love was harshly rejected with a call to police this past week. The teen reportedly began banging on the door of a Narragansett home around 1 a.m. and began screaming, “Let me in, I love you.” Unfortunately for the teen (who thought he was outside the house of a friend who was hosting a party), the 52-year-old woman who lived there wasn’t feeling the love.She told the 19-year-old man to leave and promptly called police. Police Log: 'Can I Have My Pipe Back?'

The following arrest information was supplied by the South Kingstown Police Department and describes their actions from Monday, Jan. 9 through the early morning hours of Friday, Jan. 13. These reports do not indicate a conviction.

A 17-year-old girl was arrested on Monday, Jan. 9 at 4:37 p.m. and charged with possession of marijuana, first offense. A Dixon Street resident called police to report he suspected drug activity in a white car on the corner because he saw bags being passed back and forth and the flare of a lighter. Police found two women in the car and smelled a pungent odor of marijuana when they went to question them. The minor allegedly admitted to having marijuana in the car – along with a glass pipe and grinder. “Can I have those back though,” she asked police. Police confiscated all of the drugs and paraphernalia as evidence and cited her for stopping in a roadway. She will appear for a hearing before the state Traffic Tribunal on Feb. 6. James W. …

Police Log: Be Careful What You Ask For

The following reports were provided by the South Kingstown Police Department and describe their actions from Friday, October 21through the early morning hours of Monday, October 24. These reports do not indicate a conviction.

  Brianne M. Noon, 22, of 1270 Schoolhouse Road, Wakefield, was arrested by South Kingstown Police on Wednesday, Dec. 28 at 1:35 a.m. and charged with simple assault after she allegedly manhandled an on-duty police officer at the Ocean Mist. According to reports, police were escorting Noon's friend from the bar to question her in an investigation into a separate assault. As the officer tried to separate Noon from her friend and bring the other girl outside, police said Noon began elbowing and pushing the officer with her arm. Police allege they told Noon to back off three times before they arrested her. She will be arraigned in Fourth Division District Court on Jan. 19. In the end, Noon's friend was not charged in the other assault …
