Police: Drunken Driver Going 70 in 45

According to Narragansett police, the car of a 31-year-old drunken driver was clocked at 70 miles per hour on Point Judith Road. Narragansett police logs from March 14 and March 15, 2013.

Narragansett Man Charged With Drunken Driving Jonathan D. Baptista, 31, of 30 Lakeview Drive, Apt. #0288, Narragansett, was arrested at about 2:21 a.m. on March 15 and charged with drunken driving, and cited for refusing to submit to a chemical test. According to police, an officer monitoring traffic on Point Judith Road near Palm Beach Avenue clocked a black Mercedes driven by Baptista at 70 miles per hour in a 45 mile per hour zone. Student: Maybe Dad Crashed My Car

URI Student Charged With License Violation After Abandoning Car – Suggests Dad Crashed the Car Martin T. Lannan, 23, of 39 Cypress Ave., Narragansett, was arrested at about 9:26 a.m. on March 6 and charged with driving with a suspended license. Police said Lannan is a student at the University of Rhode Island. According to police, at about 7:30 a.m. on March 1, they received a report of a car driving over the lawn of a Chestnut Avenue home. Narragansett Woman Arrested for Warrant, Suspended License Lorrie Sekator Williams, 55, of 77 Congdon St., Apt. #A, Narragansett, was arrested at about 5:07 p.m. on Feb. 13 and charged with driving with a suspended license. Police also noted that a Fourth Division District Court warrant was out for her arrest. According to police, an officer familiar with Williams from previous arrested saw her driving on a silver Cadillac Escalade on South Pier Road. A traffic stop was made on Woodruff Avenue. Noise Complaint Leads to Warrant Arrest Stuart G. King, 20, of 109 Martin St., Essex, MA, was arrested at about 1:57 a.m. on Feb. 3. Police said a Fourth Division District Court warrant was out for King’s arrest for failing to appear at a hearing related to a Narragansett police charge of transportation of alcohol by a minor. According to police, at about 1:38 a.m. they received complaints of loud noises and fireworks being lit off from 31 Bristol Road. Lang, 48, of 115 Nepaug Road, Apt. #B, Narragansett, was arrested about 2:30 a.m. on Jan. 10 and charged with driving while intoxicated and refusing to submit to a chemical test. According to police, an officer monitoring traffic on Boston Neck Road near the fire station clocked a car driven by Lang at 52 miles per hour in a 30 mile per hour zone. Hammar, 39, of 80 Samuel Rodman St., Apt. #217, South Kingstown, was arrested at about 11:04 p.m. Police said a Fourth Division District Court warrant was out for Hammar’s arrest for failing to appear at a court hearing. According to police, Hammar filed a complaint about receiving harassing text messages and calls from an unknown woman. However, police said that when they reviewed the messages on Hammar’s phone, he was actively participating in the conversation, which was not harassing in nature. Police charge a South Kingstown man with drunken driving after his truck is clocked at 15 miles per hour on Point Judith Road.

Whoops – No Arrest After Vehicle Accidentally Backs Into Police Cruiser At about 2:25 a.m. on Dec. 29, police conducted a traffic stop of a grey Toyota Camry at the Westbay Village Apartments on Boston Neck Road. According to police, an officer traveling behind the Camry on Boston Neck Road noted that it didn’t have a working plate light, and two brake lights were malfunctioning as well. Four College Students Cited Following Loud Party Complaint on Rodman Street At about 12:15 a.m. on Dec. 21, police received a report of a loud party at 118 Rodman Street. According to police, about 80 people were at the home, with 20 cars parked illegally in the surrounding area. Police noted that in front of the home, there were several empty wine bottles, Christmas decorations and plastic debris. Police said that while breaking the party up, they saw Michael P.
