Police: Car Clocked at 83 in 30

An off-duty valet is charged with drunken driving after police allegedly clocked his car at 83 miles per hour. Narragansett police logs from March 29, 2013.

Valet Charged With Drunken Driving; Car Clocked at 83 in 30 Gary S. Dove, 22, of 14 Windcheck Pond Road, Hopkinton, was arrested at about 2:02 a.m. on March 29 and charged with drunken driving, and cited for refusing to submit to a chemical test. Police noted that Dove works as a valet. According to police, an officer monitoring traffic from Jerry’s Hardware on Point Judith Road clocked a blue Volkswagen hatchback driven by Dove at 83 miles per hour in a 30 mile per hour zone. Narragansett Man Charged With Drunken Driving Ryan F. Bresnahan, 24, of 39 Conch Road, Narragansett, was arrested at about 1:48 a.m. on March 8 and charged with drunken driving, and cited for refusing to submit to a chemical test. According to police, an officer saw a car driven by Bresnahan accelerate quickly from a stop sign at Old Pine Road and Juniper Trail, screeching the tires in the process. Six Cited for Alcohol Violations at Ocean Road Party; Crowd Estimated at 300 to 350; Another Tenant Cited Later That Day At about 12:28 a.m. on March 2, police investigated a party occurring at 1191 Ocean Road. Police said that while an officer was on patrol on Ocean Road, he noted about 50 people crossing the road on foot, despite the late hour. Police said that an employee of Spain’s flagged them down, and said partygoers were illegally parking in their lot. Cruz, 22, of 143 Third St., Newport, was arrested at about 2:02 a.m. on March 1 and charged with drunken driving with a blood alcohol level between .10 and .15. According to police, an officer traveling on Point Judith Road near Foddering Farm Road clocked a grey Volvo driven by Cruz at 15 miles per hour in a 45 mile per hour zone. Richmond Man Charged With Drunken Driving Richard Arthur Scala, 25, of 20 Pine Hurst Drive, Richmond, was arrested at about 1:32 a.m. on Oct. 13 and charged with drunken driving, and cited for refusing to submit to a chemical test. According to police, an officer driving on Point Judith Road noted a black sedan – driven by Scala – completely in the breakdown lane as it traveled.
