400+ People At Two Gansett Parties

Two parties on May 4 caused significant disturbances to neighborhoods, police say. Narragansett police logs from May 4, 2013.

Three Cited for Additional Public Nuisance Violation At about 2:44 p.m. on May 4, police received multiple reports about an out-of-control party at 220 Knowlesway. According to police, there were about 400 to 450 people at the property, along with 100 to 150 cars parked in the yard and surrounding area. Police said a DJ was playing music, causing an overwhelming amount of noise, and several people were ignoring a port-a-john on the property and instead urinating along the tree line. DUI Arrest Made by Police

West, 21, of 99 Isabella Ave., Providence, was arrested at about 2:57 a.m. on April 27 and charged with drunken driving, and cited for refusing to submit to a chemical test. Police said West is a student at Rhode Island College. According to police, an officer monitoring traffic noticed a silver Honda making a wide turn from Burnside Avenue to Point Judith Road. Arrest, Multiple Citations Issued for Parties on Middle Road, Sakonnet Boulevard At about 8:57 a.m. on April 14, an officer on patrol noted an illegally parked car at 45 Middle Road. Police said that while the officer was taking down information on the car, he saw two women approaching from a home on Sakonnet Boulevard, which appeared to be hosting a loud party. URI Student Charged With Drunken Driving Sean M. Hansen, 20, of 29 Yellow Birch Road, Narragansett, was arrested at about 2:36 a.m. on April 6 and charged with drunken driving. Police said Hansen is a student at the University of Rhode Island. According to police, an officer driving behind Hansen’s truck on Point Judith Road and Burnside Avenue saw it swerve several times without explanation in the roadways.
