Attention students, faculty and staff: The boys’ ice hockey team is having a Spaghetti Dinner as a fundraiser this Friday, Feb. 15 at the Narragansett Community Center at 6 p.m. The donation is $10, which pays for your dinner and a chance to win a $200 door prize. The all-girls team would be a regional co-op between North Kingstown, South Kingstown and Narragansett.
NORTH KINGSTOWN – Members of the North Kingstown School Committee convened Tuesday to discuss, among other things, the mobilization of a girls' ice-hockey cooperative with students from Narragansett and South Kingstown. So far, about 10 young women have expressed interest in joining the team, North Kingstown Athletic Director Jim Marcello said during the school committee meeting. According to Marcello, the idea for the all-girls hockey team, likely to be called the Narragansett Storm, began as a grassroots movement and blossomed into a fully funded 501c3 nonprofit organization.
