Diversion Ordered in Gansett Drug Case

Jack Stefano, 20, is ordered to complete diversion instead of receiving jail time.

Jack Stefano, 20, of 236 Lawton St., Fall River, MA, pleaded no contest on July 2 to a Narragansett police charge of felony conspiracy to violate the controlled substances act. Stefano was ordered to complete a diversion program and to pay $450 in assessments. In return for his plea, an additional charge of felony drug possession was dismissed. Diversion is typically offered to first-time offenders with drug offenses. If Stefano properly completes a program, he would not be subject to probation, or a suspended or imposed jail sentence. A Narragansett teen is charged with felony drug possession, and a woman is found sleeping by a bar’s dumpster.

Narragansett Teen Charged With Felony Drug Possession Nathan William Bonn, 19, of 32 Fernleaf Trail, Narragansett, was arrested at about 3:27 a.m. on June 12 and charged with felony drug possession (amphetamines) and driving with a suspended license. According to police, an officer driving behind a car on Boston Neck Road saw it swerving slightly. As a result, a traffic stop was made near St. Veronica’s Church. Man Violates No-Contact Order by Writing on Arrest Forms Jonathan D. Langlois, 33, of 10 Robinson St., Apt. #1, Narragansett, was arrested at about 8:42 p.m. on June 6 and charged with violating a no-contact order. According to police, at about 5:57 p.m. they accompanied Langlois as he retrieved belongings from his apartment. On June 3, Narragansett police charged Langlois with domestic assault and violating a no-contact order, in an apartment he shared with the victim. Click here for the report on that incident. Gansett Police Make Felony Rx Arrest

According to police, Nicholas J. Maguire, 24, was charged with felony drug possession – prescription pills – following a traffic stop.

Unless otherwise noted, information about the following incidents was supplied by the Narragansett Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction. Nicholas J. Maguire, 24, of 20 Camelia Drive, Cranston, was arrested at about 2:07 p.m. on May 18 and charged with possession of a schedule IV narcotic, which is a felony. According to police, an officer monitoring traffic saw Maguire and a passenger pass by his location on Burnside Avenue while not wearing seatbelts. A traffic stop was made on Point Judith Road near Green Kinyon Driftway. Police said that during the stop, Maguire appeared nervous, and fidgeted with something in his car near the front passenger when the officer was in his patrol car. When asked if there were any …

Two Pounds of Pot Found at Home of URI Students

Police said marijuana, Adderall and cash were found after executing a search warrant at a Sea Lea Drive home on Wednesday morning.

According to a release by Narragansett Police Detective Lieutenant Sean Corrigan, officers seized two pounds of marijuana and Adderall pills at 10 Sea Lea Drive after serving a search warrant at 6:50 a.m. Wednesday. The tenants were identified as Luke Rathbone, 22, Scott Saypol, 21, and Dylan Campagna, 20. All three were charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, a felony. Saypol was also charged with felony possession of a controlled substance (Adderall). Rathbone and Campagna are being held without bail, pending a status hearing on March 14. According to police, Saypol agreed to enhanced bail conditions, and his bail was set at $30,000 with surety. However, he had not posted it as of Thursday morning. According to the …

Man Busted for Pot in Gansett, Heroin in NY

Lonnie Walker, 30, faces felony drug charges in both New York and Rhode Island following a November arrest in Farmingville.

According to a November 2011 report on the Huntington, New York Patch, a man accused of being behind a Narragansett grow operation was arrested after Farmingville police found 140 decks of heroin in his condo. According to Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas Spota, Lonnie Walker, 30, was the target of a home invasion plot by Joshua A. Whitfield, 26, of Huntington and Seyquan Patron, 24, of Mastic Beach. An arrest was made thanks to surveillance footage.
