A Worcester bishop has already issued an apology for a hit and run accident involving drinking in Narragansett on Saturday.
Rev. Robert J. McManus, the Bishop of Worcester for the Diocese of Worcester, was arrested Saturday in Narragansett and charged with drunken driving, refusing to submit to a chemical test and leaving the scene of an accident, according to multiple media reports. According to a report by WPRI, a car driven by McManus hit another car, but the driver of the car was able to follow McManus to his vacation home on Colonel John Garden Road in Bonnet Shores. McManus is scheduled to be arraigned at Fourth Division District Court on Tuesday, the customary day for non-felony Narragansett police charges.
