Domestic Assault, Hit and Run Arrests Made by PD

Police arrest a Narragansett woman for domestic assault and a URI student for a hit and run. Narragansett police logs from April 7, 2013.

Narragansett Woman Charged With Domestic Assault Alexis A. Kiernan, 33, of 11 Rockland St., Apt. #A, Narragansett, was arrested at about 7:04 p.m. on April 7 and charged with domestic assault. According to police, they received a report from an anonymous caller of a possible domestic disturbance at the intersection of Kingstown Road and Rockland Street. Police said that they could hear yelling between a man and a woman coming from a home on Rockland Street. Police said that when they entered the home, they saw Kiernan charging at a 41-year-old Narragansett man, who had his arms up …

Narragansett Police Log: December 20, 2012

A lifeguard is charged with possession of marijuana, and a party leads to a warrant arrest.

Newport Man Arrested for Warrant, Cited for Alcohol Jesse B. Botelho, 21, of 22 Catherine St., Apt. #1, Newport, was arrested at about 11:50 p.m. for a Second Division District Court warrant and cited for violating the town’s open container laws. Police said the warrant stemmed from a charge of disorderly conduct. According to police, they received a report of a loud party at 11 Cavalier Avenue. Police said as they were breaking up the party, a partygoer threw a full can of beer at a police cruiser. The identity of the person was not discovered by police. Police said the beer can …

I'm sure the YMCA has a policy about drug use by their employees Lori. Unless he's a Licensed Medical Marijuana Patient I don't think he should be allowed to continue to work @ the YMCA especially as a lifeguard! Just my opinion though...   more ›

Narragansett Police Log: September 2, 2012

A URI student is arrested – again – for a warrant, and a Providence teen is charged with driving without a license.

Unless otherwise noted, information about the following incidents was supplied by the Narragansett Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction. Providence Teen Charged With Driving Without License Wifferson L. Manzano, 18, of 17 Grand St., Apt. #1, Providence, was arrested at about 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 2 and charged with driving without a license. According to police, an officer monitoring traffic on Knowlesway near Point Judith Road noted a red Honda Accord with a missing front license plate and a cracked windshield. A traffic stop was made at the entrance of the Anchor Motel. Manzano – the driver – told police that he did not have a license, and a background check confirmed no Rhode Island license on file. A South Kingstown man is charged with another marijuana offense, and a Cumberland teen is arrested for pot as well.

South Kingstown Man Charged with Felony Marijuana Possession, Driving Without License Peter Joseph D’Ambra, 56, of 948 Matunuck Beach Road, Apt. #2, South Kingstown, was arrested at about 11:45 a.m. on July 8 and charged with felony possession of marijuana and driving without a license. According to police, an officer monitoring traffic on Point Judith Road near Jerry’s Hardware saw a tan Nissan with an expired inspection sticker. According to Narragansett police, fighting and claims of a knife at a Meadowsweet Trail home result in three arrests.

Several Arrested Following Report of a Knife at Meadowsweet Trail Home Narragansett police made several arrests at about 2:25 a.m. on May 18 following a noise complaint coming from 9 Meadowsweet Trail. According to police, when they arrived at the home, they noted a group in a downstairs room, visible through an open window. Police asked the group to open the front door. Narragansett Man Charged With DWI Thanks to Good Samaritan Richard A. Wall, 36, of 191 Boston Neck Road, Apt. #A, Narragansett, was arrested at about 11:04 p.m. on March 17 and charged with driving while intoxicated. He was also cited for refusing to submit to a chemical test. According to police, a 53-year-old Narragansett woman told them that while stopped at an intersection on Twinleaf Trail, a black truck traveling in the wrong lane almost collided with her head-on.
