Police Make Shoplifting, License Arrests

South Kingstown Man Charged With Shoplifting Gregory S. Sampson, 49, of 88 Dam St., South Kingstown, was arrested at about 8:50 p.m. on April 29 and charged with shoplifting. According to police, they received a report from a security officer at Stop and Shop that they had caught Sampson attempting to leave the store with a carriage full of items. Police said that the security officer caught up to Sampson as he tried to leave in the parking lot with $215.34 worth of baby diapers, baby wipes and containers of Tide detergent. Police said Sampson was arrested without incident. …

Scuffle, Screaming Leads to Citations on Ocean Road

Alleged Fight Leads to Two Being Charged With Disorderly Conduct At about 2:25 a.m. on April 19, police received a report of a loud fight in the area of 812 Ocean Road. According to police, as they arrived at the residence, they stopped a grey Ford Escape, which was attempting to leave the driveway. Police said that a passenger in the car – URI student Joshua P. Engels, 20, of 184 Boon St., Narragansett – was shirtless, had scratches on his body and blood on his hands. Police (Finally) Arrest Man on Check Charges

According to police, it takes multiple attempts over the course of a month to arrest and charge Adam Finn, 39, with writing a bad check. Narragansett police logs from April 15 and April 16, 2013.

Hard to Reach North Smithfield Man Charged With Writing Fraudulent Checks Adam R. Finn, 39, with a last known address of 116 North Main St., North Smithfield, was arrested at about 11:30 a.m. on April 16 and charged with writing fraudulent checks. According to police, on March 21 town staff told them that an $85 check written by Finn, at that time living on Indian Trail Road, had bounced. Additional attempts by the town to make contact with Finn were ineffective. Police said that on March 22, they left a voicemail on Finn’s cell phone asking him to call the department. Police said …

Town Worker Finds Replica BB Gun

Narragansett Man Cited for License Violation Brent R. Williams, 34, of 20 Tupelo Trail, Narragansett, was cited for driving with a suspended license at about 4:45 p.m. on March 11. According to police, an officer traveling behind a tan Ford Taurus on Ocean Road noted it swerving. A check of the registration revealed that the plate came back to a black Chevrolet, not a Ford. East Greenwich Man Charged With Drunken Driving Kyle P. Kelaghan, 22, of 139 Kent Drive, East Greenwich, was arrested at about 2:31 a.m. on March 9 and charged with drunken driving, and cited for refusing to submit to a chemical test. According to police, an officer traveling on Boston Neck Road near the Coffee and Bagel Connection saw a silver Honda Civic swerving and drifting. As a result, a traffic stop was made on Bridgetown Road near Lakeside Drive. Lannan, 23, of 39 Cypress Ave., Narragansett, was arrested at about 9:26 a.m. on March 6 and charged with driving with a suspended license. Police said Lannan is a student at the University of Rhode Island. According to police, at about 7:30 a.m. on March 1, they received a report of a car driving over the lawn of a Chestnut Avenue home. Four Cited for Licenses, Purse Turned In

Four Cited for License Violations - Phillip E. Thomas, 28, of 120 North Road, South Kingstown, was cited at about 4:42 p.m. on Feb. 14 and charged with driving with a suspended license. According to police, an officer monitoring traffic from Seaport Communications on Point Judith Road clocked a car driven by Thomas at 55 miles per hour in a 45 mile per hour zone. Police also noted that a Fourth Division District Court warrant was out for her arrest. Police said Carchia is a student at the University of Rhode Island. According to police, an officer clocked a green Dodge pick-up driven by Carchia at 15 miles per hour in a 45 mile per hour zone on Point Judith Road near Westlake’s Gas Station.
