Narragansett Police Log: December 3, 4, 5 and 6, 2012

Police arrest one man twice, and three of his friends, after reports of a fight.

Five Arrests Between Four Men for Fighting, Disorderly Conduct Over Ex-Girlfriend / Girlfriend Julio C. Vasquez, 21, of 55 Hope Lane, Apt. #A, Narragansett, was arrested at about 12:09 a.m. on Dec. 6 and charged with disorderly conduct. Police said Vasquez is a student at the University of Rhode Island. According to police, they received a report of a fight at Pancho O’Malleys. Police said that the victim – a 19-year-old man – and a bouncer at the bar both identified Vasquez as the primary aggressor. A URI student is charged with drunken driving after a traffic accident caused by one-way driving.

URI Student Charged With Drunken Driving After Leaving Accident Scene Nathan L. Filion, 20, of 11 Wabash Lane, Narragansett, was arrested at about 3:06 a.m. on Nov. 10 and charged with drunken driving and failure to stop after an accident, and cited for refusing to submit to a chemical test. Police said Filion is a student at the University of Rhode Island. According to police, they received a report of a traffic accident on Ocean Road near Turtle Soup, with the driver of a blue car leaving the scene. A Narragansett woman is arrested for assault during a child custody handoff.

Narragansett Woman Charged With Assault Marion N. Sanchez, 22, of 354 South Pier Road, Apt. #204, Narragansett, was arrested at about 5:59 p.m. on Oct. 21 and charged with assault. According to police, an officer was on the way to Sanchez’s apartment to monitor a custody exchange. However, police said that while en route, they received a report that Sanchez assaulted a woman. Police said when they arrived, Sanchez was yelling at a 23-year-old woman sitting in the passenger seat of a car. Police noted the woman had a red scratch above and below her eye. The latest charge for a Narragansett man is felony assault, after a man claims he waved a gun at him and punched him, police say.

Narragansett Man Charged With Assault, Threatening Man With Rifle; Weapon Not Found Justin D. Pinheiro, 20, of 15 Buttonbush Trail, Narragansett, was arrested at about 12:36 a.m. on Oct. 8 and charged with assault and felony assault, for allegedly threatening a man with a rifle. According to police, they received a report of a man – later identified as Pinheiro – punching a 20-year-old man in the face, and threatening him with a rifle, over a parking dispute. A North Kingstown woman allegedly scratches a man during an argument in a truck.

North Kingstown Woman Charged With Assault Jodie Dumont, 34, of 51 New Lexington Road, North Kingstown, was arrested at about 12:57 a.m. on Sept. 17 and charged with assault. According to police, based on interviews with Dumont and the victim, the two had been arguing in a truck together on the drive home from a bar. Police said that based on the interviews, Dumont became upset when the driver took them to his parents’ home in Narragansett instead of her home in North Kingstown, and scratched the man during the argument. Narragansett Police Log: July 22 and 23, 2012

Littering leads to an assault by the sea wall, and a Warwick woman is charged with drunken driving.

Warwick Woman Charged with Drunken Driving Kristen Kovacik, 28, of 3595 Post Road, Warwick, was arrested at about 1:43 a.m. on July 22 and charged with drunken driving. According to police, an officer traveling on Boston Neck Road near the Bonnet Shopping Center had to break sharply to avoid being hit by a silver Subaru Impreza. The officer then followed the car, and clocked it at 47 miles per hour in a 30 mile per hour zone. A traffic stop was made on Boston Neck Road near Gardenia Lane. Police deal with three driving violations, and a South Kingstown man is charged with assault at George’s.

South Kingstown Man Charged with Assault at George’s Michael R. Valles, 21, of 16 Steven Circle, South Kingstown, was arrested at about 11:42 p.m. on July 16 and charged with assault and disorderly conduct. According to police, they received a report of a fight in progress at George’s at about 11:40 p.m. When they arrived, police said that two bouncers had Valles on the ground with his hands behind his back. Narragansett Man Arrested for Assault Charges Again Scott F. Verrecchia, 27, of 121 Winterberry Road, Narragansett, was arrested at about 7:46 p.m. on April 11. According to police, they received an anonymous tip that Verrecchia was visiting a family member’s home. When they arrived at the home, he was arrested without incident. Police said Verrecchia had two warrants out for his arrest, one from their department for charges on April 5, and one from Central Falls Police for an assault case there on April 9. According to police, they received a report of a domestic incident after the fact at about 6:45 p.m. An 18-year-old Narragansett woman told police that earlier that afternoon, she picked up Casey from his home in South Kingstown, because he wanted to see their child.
