Mmm! Pasta Dinner For Gansett Hockey Friday

Get your fill of carbs and support the Narragansett boys’ ice hockey team in the process.

Release courtesy the Narragansett High School listserv. Attention students, faculty and staff: The boys’ ice hockey team is having a Spaghetti Dinner as a fundraiser this Friday, Feb. 15 at the Narragansett Community Center at 6 p.m.  The donation is $10, which pays for your dinner and a chance to win a $200 door prize. Tickets may be purchased from any hockey player or at the door.  Thanks for your support.

5 THINGS: Mmm!

Lots of tasty things are going on this weekend. (The Crash Test Dummies would be envious of this article.)

Here are the Five Things for Friday, February 3, 2012, and the weekend: Mmm, pasta! I’m not sure if you’re aware of this, but running a hockey program sure is expensive. You essentially have to book ice time at rinks across the state, never mind all of the various equipment you need to buy. So, if you’re looking to pitch in, and want to fill up your stomach in the process, check out the hockey team’s pasta dinner tonight at the Narragansett Community Center. The doors open at 6 p.m., and the cost is $10. There are a variety of raffles being held as well, with the top prize $200 cash. Mmm, Narragansett sports! LETTER: Spirit of Giving Alive in Tough Times

A letter of thanks from several involved in community charity efforts this past holiday season.

To the editor, Narragansett is known for its beaches and ocean views, but over the past Thanksgiving and winter holidays it has shown its generous heart.  So very many people worked and contributed to the Thanksgiving Food Drive and the Holiday Food and Gift Drive, sponsored through Narragansett Housing and the Narragansett School District. We were able to provide food baskets for more than 100 families and gifts to more than 200 children. It all started in October, securing donations from the community by way of food drives in the schools, and those amazing Boy Scouts who collected THOUSANDS of pounds of food! The generosity was like a wave rolling through town, with the coordinated efforts of the Sprague Fund, the Narragansett Lions Club…

EVENT OF THE DAY: Support 'The Storm'

A pasta dinner tonight benefits the first South County girls hockey team.

Support the new co-op (North Kingstown, South Kingstown, Narragansett) girls hockey team, "The Storm," tonight at 6 at a pasta dinner at the Narragansett Community Center, 53 Mumford Road. In addition to a delicious meal, take a chance on winninf some fabulous prizes ioncluding four luxury box tickets for the Patriots game on New Year's Day, and a personally signed surfboard, along with other raffle prizes. All proceeds will benefit the first girls South County high school team, which will be the 10th girls team in the RI Interscholastic league. The team will be totally self-funded and needs to raise about $20,000. The money pays for ice time, uniforms and other fees associated to play in the Interscholastic League.  The Storm will play …
