Felony Charge Dismissed for $60 Restitution

According to court files, a felony charge is dismissed against Sarah Loranger, 32, after she makes a $60 restitution payment.

A Narragansett police felony charge of obtaining money under false pretenses against Sarah Loranger, 32, of 3 Bill Sweet Way, Narragansett, was dismissed on Feb. 4. According to court files at Washington County Superior Court, the charge was dismissed in return for Loranger paying $60 back to the victim, a 70-year-old Narragansett woman. According to Narragansett police reports included in court files, in January 2012 Loranger was accused by the woman of improperly using her debit card at several area banks. Police catch Joseph Bianco, 24, for a robbery at the Vanilla Bean after his apartment burns down in Narragansett.

Joseph Bianco, 24, now of 2015 Birch St., Scotch Plains, NJ, and formerly of 56 Meadowrue Trail, Narragansett, and 108 Boon St., Narragansett, pleaded no contest on March 19 to a South Kingstown police charge of breaking and entering into the Vanilla Bean in August 2011. Bianco was ordered to pay $450 in assessments, and a deferred sentence was imposed. Woman Pleads to Swiping Gansett Wedding Ring

Cheri Joslin, 36, is ordered to pay about $8,200 in restitution for stolen jewelry from a Narragansett home.

Cheri Joslin, 36, of 22 Fiume St., West Warwick, pleaded no contest on Jan. 30 to a Narragansett police felony charge of larceny. Joslin was ordered to pay $8,200 in restitution and $450 in assessments, and to serve three years probation and a three-year suspended sentence. Based on online records, Joslin also pleaded on Jan. 30 to a Cranston police felony charge of attempting breaking and entering. Block Island Teacher Pleads to Hit and Run

Joshua Weisz Smith, 27, is ordered to serve probation and community service following a plea to a hit and run accident in June 2012.

Joshua Weisz Smith, 27, of Block Island, pleaded no contest on Feb. 1 to a New Shoreham police charge of reckless driving, which was amended from a felony charge of leaving the scene of an accident with injury resulting. Smith was ordered to serve a year of probation, to complete 100 hours of community service and alcohol counseling, and to pay $250 to the Violent Crimes Indemnity Fund and $341 in assessments. Wakefield Woman Pleads to NK Credit Card Theft

Lisa St. Laurent, 31, is ordered to pay restitution and assessments in return for her plea.

Lisa St. Laurent, 31, now of 304 Shannock Road, Wakefield, and formerly of 42 Ranger Road, North Kingstown, pleaded no contest on March 18 to a North Kingstown police felony charge of obtaining money under false pretenses. St. Laurent was ordered to pay restitution and $450 in assessments, after being rejected for diversion. A deferred sentence was also imposed. A restitution hearing will be held in front of a magistrate in the future. NK Man Sentenced To Year For Domestic Offenses

Keith Mongillo, 35, is ordered to serve a year at the ACI after pleading no contest to repeatedly violating a no-contact order.

Keith Mongillo, 35, of 60 Georgia Ave., North Kingstown, pleaded no contest on March 8 to a North Kingstown police felony charge of violating a no-contact order. Mongillo was ordered to serve a year at the ACI, retroactive to Oct. 31, 2012, followed by four years probation and a four-year suspended sentence. Mongillo was also ordered to pay $575 in assessments and to complete domestic abuse counseling.
