'Cinderella' Up In Smoke
Special effects brought fire trucks to musical's opening night at Courthouse Center for the Arts.
It's a fairy tale, or shall I say "foggy" tale, I'll never forget. Everyone knows the premise of Cinderella by heart — a mistreated young lady slaves after her wicked stepmother and stepsisters until her fairy godmother magically arrives. During opening night of Rodgers and Hammerstein's "Cinderella," at the Courthouse Center for the Arts on Friday, that's when the real-life drama began. When The Fairy Godmother, played by Trudi Miller, appeared on stage masked by a giant wall of smoke, the middle-aged, purple beehive-wearing fairy coughed dramatically through the thick air.
