Narragansett Police Log: November 15, 16, 17 and 18, 2012

A broken window via a beer can and a police search with a K-9 unit leads to arrests.

Broken Window Leads to Disorderly Conduct Charge, Alcohol Violation A report of a broken window at a Sakonnet Boulevard home led to the arrest of one man and the citation of another. According to police, they received a report of a man breaking a window at a Sakonnet Boulevard home. Police said they found Petti, Cardello and a third man running from Ocean Road on to Clarke Road. Police said that when questioned, all three denied involvement. However, a search of Cardello’s backpack revealed a bottle of Smirnoff vodka, a can of Budweiser and a can of Coors Light. Narragansett Police Log: October 15 and 16, 2012

A K-9 unit detects needles and syringes in a car, but there isn’t enough heroin to charge the person with possession.

Providence Man Charged With Driving With A Suspended License; K-9 Unit Finds Used Needles, Syringes Joel M. Cavanagh, 25, of 627 Cranston St., Providence, was arrested at about 6:10 p.m. on Oct. 16 and charged with driving with a suspended license. According to police, an officer traveling on Point Judith Road near Angell Road observed a silver Pontiac without a front license plate. A traffic stop was made near Palm Beach Avenue.
