The Maury Loontjens Memorial Library serves as the official library for Narragansett. It was dedicated in Sept. 2007…More to Loontjens, who was known his support and patronage of the library during his nine terms on the Narragansett Town Council and 10 years as town manager. The library has an obelisk outside honoring his contributions to the town.
This location provides approximately 63,000 books on a single floor, along with a specific room devoted to children's titles with a small play area. Movies, DVDs and Internet access is also available.
Sitting at its current location at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and Central Street since 1888, the Narragansett…More Town Hall houses offices for the school system's administration, the town manager, the town clerk and records department, the building inspector, the community development director, the engineering department, the finance department and the human resources director. The building itself is three stories high, with an elevator in the building for all the floors. An assembly room on the second floor hosts town council meetings. Town offices are on the first and second floor, with school officials on the third floor.
