Narragansett Pier Middle School is located right in the heart of this seaside community and is directly nextMore to Narragansett High School. The middle school's mission is to guide its fifth through eighth grade students through a period of growth and change intellectually, emotionally, physically and socially.

The campus, built in 1990, has athletic facilities on site, in addition to the joint use of the outdoor track and baseball field located next door at Narragansett High School. There are several nature trails on the grounds for outdoor exploration. 

Currently, the school's science department is involved in a pilot program headed by Dr. Robert Ballard. Students will watch live feeds as he and his team undertake an exciting expedition on the E/V Nautilus to map the sea floor, study underwater volcanoes, investigate unusual life forms, explore shipwrecks and more.

Narragansett High School

Narragansett High School is the home of the Mariners and it houses about 100 students per grade level on average. ItsMore athletic facilities are on its South Pier Road campus, with the middle school further down on South Pier Road, toward Ocean Road and the pier. Students at the school test well above the state average in reading, writing and mathematics and also graduate at a higher rate than other communities.

Construction on the school was completed in time for the September class of 1975, after an initial bond was approved in 1972. At the time, the site was known as Canonchet Farms.

Sitting at its current location at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and Central Street since 1888, the NarragansettMore Town Hall houses offices for the school system's administration, the town manager, the town clerk and records department, the building inspector, the community development director, the engineering department, the finance department and the human resources director. The building itself is three stories high, with an elevator in the building for all the floors. An assembly room on the second floor hosts town council meetings. Town offices are on the first and second floor, with school officials on the third floor.
