Westerly Police Capt. Shawn Lacey told Stonington Patch that media reports saying police found him swimming toward's Swift's mega-mansion are not true.

Shawn Lacey confirmed for Stonington Patch that a 22-year-old Chicago man was charged with trespassing after routine patrol discovered him "coming out of the bushes" on Lighthouse Road near Taylor Swift's home in Watch Hill after 2 a.m. Wednesday. Lacey said reports that indicate police found him in the water are not true. Lacey said, “He very well might have been in the water at some point, but not when we found him.” Lighthouse Road is adjacent to 16 Bluff Avenue, the new home of 23-year-old superstar singer Taylor Swift. According to police, there were about 400 to 450 people at the property, along with 100 to 150 cars parked in the yard and surrounding area. According to police, an officer traveling behind a gold Honda Accord on Point Judith Road near Sand Hill Cove initially saw the car swerve 11 separate times. Police are looking to talk to anyone with information about the incident, which took place early Monday morning.
A man broke into Davisville Middle School in the early morning hours of Monday, May 13, according to North Kingstown Police. There was extensive damage to equipment and the building itself, police said, but the school day proceeded as usual. A suspect is clearly seen on school department video inside the school carrying bolt cutters and wearing a white mask to cover his face. No other specifics are being released, said Detective Lieutenant Chris Emerson. "We're just looking to get the image out there," he said. Drunken Bumper Cars A Newport woman was arrested Wednesday after she allegedly hit two cars and fled the scene. Ingrid Pena-Tejada, 48, of 143 Third Street, Apt #4F, was charged with driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license, leaving the scene of an accident of an attended vehicle and for an open container.
