This Weekend: South County Bridal Show, Geology Rocks and More

Here are just a handful of ideas to kickstart your weekend planning.

Hope Valley Indoor Farmers' Market: From 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays through Apr. 19, the Richmond Community Center, located at 1168 Main Street in Wyoming (second floor of police station), will host the Hope Valley Indoor Winter Farmers' Market. Products include local produce, meat, fish, coffee, baked goods, jam, soap, Alpaca fiber and more. 

Geology Rocks - Session Two: This Saturday at noon, the Sachuest Point National Wildlife Refuge (769 Sachuest Point Rd., Middletown) invites the public for an afternoon of discovering local geology. From Hanging Rock to the Price Neck Rock Formation and more, the Refuge is full of geological stories just waiting to be explored. USFWS Volunteer Norm Champagne will be presenting a different topic each hour, so there will be many opportunities to discover. This event is suggested for visitors 12 and up. 

Bridal Show: From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 12, The Towers in Narragansett will host the 7th Annual South County Bridal Show. "This intimate setting is the perfect venue to meet one on one with the finest wedding vendors South County has to offer to plan a day that is elegant, affordable and memorable," reads the event webpage. $13 in advance, $15 at the door. Scrabble Scramble: From 1-2 p.m. on Sunday, the Maury Loontjens Memorial Library, located at 35 Kingstown Road, Narragansett, will hold Scrabble Scramble - a place to find friendly Scrabble opponents. (Bring your board if you have one!)

NHS Wrestling Pasta Dinner: At 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, the Narragansett High School Wrestling team will be hosting a Pasta Dinner at the Mettatuxet Yacht Club, located at 36 S. River Dr., Narragansett. Dinner tickets are $15 per person and proceeds will benefit to wrestling team. Click here for more info.

Wakefield Jazz at The Contemporary: This and each Sunday from 2-5 p.m., The Contemporary Theater Company, located at 327 Main Street in Wakefield, will host "Wakefield Jazz Sessions". The weekly event invites local musicians to bring their instrument and jam with a house band and fellow jazz musicians. Cost is $5 per person. Click here to view the the event page on Facebook.
