This Weekend: Festival of Lights, Tubaphonia Christmas Concert and More

Here are just a handful of ideas to kickstart your weekend planning.

Bazaar & Artisan Craft Fair: From 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, located at 383 North Rd., Kingston, will host its Fourth Annual Christmas Bazaar and Artisan Craft Fair. The event will feature original handmade items, ornaments, knitted and crocheted items, scarves, aprons, handbags, jewelry, candles, homemade jam, American Doll clothes and more. Book & Bake Sale: On Saturday, Dec. 7 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Kingston Free Library, at 2605 Kingstown Rd., will host a Holiday in Kingston Celebration. The event will feature an annual Like-New Book Sale, bake sale, gift wrapping, kid's crafts, musical entertainment and refreshments like cookies and cider!

Church of the Ascension: At 9 a.m. Saturday, Church of the Ascension, located at 370 Main St, Wakefield will host its Christmas Bazaar. The event will feature fresh handmade wreaths, silent auction, handmade knit items, holiday decorations, gifts, baked goods, cheese, jewelry, attic treasures and a luncheon.

Peace Dale Holiday Fair: From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Peace Dale Elementary School, located at 109 Kersey Rd., Wakefield, will host its 9th Annual Holiday Fair. More than 40 artisans, crafters, and vendors will offer handmade jewelry and clothing, gourmet treats, holiday crafts, and more. There will also be a themed basket raffle, Scholastic Book Fair, food and live music performed by Peace Dale student musicians.

Monsignor Clarke Festival: From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, Monsignor Clarke School, located at 5074 Tower Hill Rd., Wakefield, will host a Christmas Festival featuring various local vendors and artisans.

Festival of Lights: Between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, the Narragansett Parks & Recreation Department will host its Annual Festival of Lights throughout the town. Click here for a complete rundown of the days festivities!

Tubaphonia Christmas Concert: At 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Rhode Island's annual Tubaphonia Christmas Concert and Community Sing-Along will be hosted in the Narragansett High School auditorium, located at 245 South Pier Road. More than 50 tubas, baritones and euphoniums, played by musicians ranging in age from 10 to 80 will perform classic holiday selections. Admission is free, however donations are accepted to benefit future Christmas Tubaphonia events.

Wakefield Jazz at The Contemporary: This and each Sunday from 2-5 p.m., The Contemporary Theater Company, located at 327 Main Street in Wakefield, will host "Wakefield Jazz Sessions". The weekly event invites local musicians to bring their instrument and jam with a house band and fellow jazz musicians. Cost is $5 per person. Click here to view the the event page on Facebook.
