Your Guide: Aug. 14-18, Washington County Fair

The 47th Annual Washington County Fair, the largest agricultural event in Rhode Island, is scheduled to take place August 14-18, 2013 on Route 112 in Richmond, RI.

Tickets are $10 for adults and those 10 years old and younger will be admitted for free. This year, visitors may purchase a strip of five tickets for $50, a $10 discount. Parking is free. Click here for complete ticket details.

Each of the five days day will be filled with entertainment, special events, rides, arts and crafts, exhibits and displays, tractor and horse pulls, just to name a few.

Wednesday is Opening Day as well as Senior Citizens' Day, which means special discounts at food booths, and a $9 admission fee for seniors. Rides will run from noon to 6 p.m. each day and are one ticket per ride today only. Roomful of Blues will perform on the Main State at 8:30 p.m.

Thursday is Children's Day and Future Farmers of America (FFA) Day. All-day ride bracelet sales begin at 11 a.m. and will cost $25 without access to the fair's roller coaster. Ride bracelets including the coaster will be $30. A fireworks display will begin at 8:45 p.m., followed immediately by a performance from Jon Pardi and opening act Tim Charron.

Friday is also Children's Day as well as 4-H Day. All-day ride bracelet sales begin at 11 a.m. and will cost $25 without access to the fair's roller coaster. Ride bracelets including the coaster will be $30. Performer Randy Houser will take the Main Stage at 8:30 p.m.

Saturday is Washington County Day, and will feature a RI 4-H Goat Show, 1st Annual War of the Fishermen, an Antique Tractor Pull and more. Musical act Phil Vassar will perform on the Main Stage at 1 p.m. and again at 9 p.m.

Sunday is Grange Day, featuring a 4-H Dog Show, Animal Costume Parade and the 36th Annual Tug-O-War. Musician JT Hodges will perform on the Main Stage at 12 p.m. and again at 6 p.m.
