Raimondo Praises 'Women Constructing Hope' Volunteers

General Treasurer Gina Raimondo donned a tool belt and hard hat to volunteer at the second of two all-women South County Habitat for Humanity weekend builds.

General Treasurer Gina Raimondo recently spoke to the group of Women Constructing Hope volunteers participating in the Nov. 2-3 building of a Habitat for Humanity home in South Kingstown.

Raimondo and the all-women construction group added a second floor to the house, located in Old North Village in Kingston, which will become home to a local family in need early next year. The first floor was completed during the Women Constructing Hope debut weekend build on Oct. 19 and 20 with Lt. Governor Elizabeth Roberts.

During the build, Raimondo praised the South County Habitat for Humanity and the dedicated volunteers for their efforts in helping the community. She also emphasized Rhode Island’s need for affordable housing.
