5 THINGS: Incentivized Yard Sales and Other Events

There are several sales and events going on in South County today.

Here are the (more than) Five Things for Saturday, June 16, 2012:

Yard sale at the church, and everyday homes too! There will be a at St. Augustine Church from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Got a craving for some deeper deals and unspoiled, unseen merchandise? For $5, you can visit early at 7:30 a.m. There is also a “normal” going on at 215 Waites Corner Road in West Kingstown from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Mmm, holy pancakes… An appropriate place to stop before going to the yard sale at St. Augustine’s might be the at the Church of the Ascension. The price is $7 per adult, $5 per child or senior citizen, with a limit of $26 per family. If you bring a baked good, your meal is half-off! And if you join the alternative food co-op, then your meal is free. The event runs from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Mmm, fresh produce… The University of Rhode Island (and others) will a farmer’s market at East Farm from 8:30 a.m. to noon. If you feel like traveling a bit, there is on Old Post Road in Charlestown from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“So what? So let’s dance!” – Rodney Dangerfield in Caddyshack. Feel like dancing tonight? There will be on Matunuck Beach Road for $10. The fun runs from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
