5 THINGS: It's Friday, Friday, Something Something Friday!

Remember Rebecca Black? Man, you might be the only one at this point then.

Here are the (more than) Five Things for Friday, August 3, 2012:

Mmm, coffee and networking! What could be sweeter? The Southern Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce is hosting its “” coffee event at the Contemporary Theater Company at 8 a.m. The cost is just $5, and it’s a great networking event.

Farmers’ markets, festivals, concerts and other events! Here’s the listing for today:

  • The weekly Goddard State Park starts at 9 a.m.
  • The Theatre by the Sea starts at 10 a.m., and coincidentally, admission is $10. There is at noon, by the way.
  • The 2012 Narragansett Summer Concert takes part at 6 p.m. at 35 Ocean Road, a.k.a. Gazebo Park. Admission is free, and tonight’s band is Abbey Rhode.
  • Frosty Drew in Charlestown is hosting its at 7:30 p.m. The event is free.

DANGER WILL ROBINSON! Starting in early September, we’re going to be phasing out the adding of new calendar events by our staff. This means that if you’re from a group or organization, you’ll have to start doing them yourself. It’s pretty simple, though! While logged into your Patch account, just go here. Adding your event ensures it’ll show up in searches, and be eligible for me to give it shout-outs in Five Things.
