Narragansett's David Tetreault Runs Boston Marathon in 3:17

About 36,000 runners ran the 118th marathon Monday.

Narragansett resident David Tetreault finished Monday's Boston Marathon with a time of 3 hours, 17 minutes, and 30 seconds.

The time was good for 5,805th place overall. The 51-year-old Tetreault was the fastest runner from Narragansett or South Kingstown.

There were 17 Narragansett or South Kingstown residents registered to run the race. Search for results by town or name on the Boston Marathon website.

American Meb Keflezighi finished first overall with a time of 2 hours, 8 minutes, and 37 seconds. He was the first American to win the race since 1983.

About 36,000 runners registered for the marathon, which featured a larger-than-usual crowd of about a million spectators after last year's deadly bombings.
