Narragansett High Softball Squad Wins State Title

Narragansett won a best-of-three series against Juanita Sanchez/Rocky Hill.

Narragansett High School on Monday earned its second straight state title.

The team defeated Juanita Sanchez/Rocky Hill in an extra-innings thriller, 10-9, at Rhode Island College for the Division 3 state championship.

Narragansett won the best-of-three series after winning Friday's game by a score of 3-2.

It was the team's second straight state title. Narragansett was ranked No. 1 in the playoff bracket this year.

"I’m glad I can end my senior year this way," player Maddie Cote told the Providence Journal. "I wouldn’t have it any other way."
