[VIDEO] Cumberland Dominates D-II Super Bowl vs. Woonsocket

Excluding a drive in the game's final five minutes, Woonsocket doesn't even get into the red zone in a 49-0 lose to Cumberland in the Division II Super Bowl.

EAST GREENWICH – Cumberland took a 7-0 lead in the first quarter, a 21-0 lead at half time and finished the game with four second half interceptions in a 49-0 Division II Super Bowl win against Woonsocket.

Woonsocket struggled on both ends of the ball, in both halves. Brett Bouchard threw four interceptions in the second half, as Woonsocket was forced to go to the air to try to come back from the 21-0 hole.

In contrast, Cumberland scored a touchdown on all but one of its possessions. Even on that possession, Cumberland went for and missed a 24-yard field goal, after a goal line stand by Woonsocket.

The Clippers did their damage on the ground and in the air. Running back Erik Travers was named game MVP and led Cumberland in rushing, while quarterback Brendan Guerin threw for multiple long first downs and touchdowns.

The title is the first outright one for the Clippers. In 2004, the Clippers were named Division II champions via forfeit, and in 1969, Cumberland was Class B co-champion. Cumberland finished the Division II season undefeated, 10-0.
