Peace Dale School's Turcotte Wins Golden Apple

Julie Turcotte will receive $250 to help fund her classroom for winning the weekly distinction.

The Peace Dale School Community is pleased to announce Julie Turcotte, a fourth grade teacher, as the recipient of the Channel 10, Rhode Island Department of Education and Hasbro’s Golden Apple Teacher Award. 

Julie has been a South Kingstown teacher for the past 21 years.  She is being honored for her dedication to our school and her outstanding instructional skills and strategies that are provided to her students. 

She has built strong relationships with her students’ families and is always willing to discuss any concerns or questions they may have.  Julie is sensitive to her students’ needs and has assured them they will work together to reach understanding of all learning objectives.

There is a mutual trust built between Julie and her students.  This trust is what enables them to succeed in their learning. 

Julie, who is a quiet, reflective teacher, is truly deserving of this honor.  She works tirelessly to research and deliver the best instructional program for all of her students.  As a result, her students far exceed all expectations both academically and behaviorally.
