Council Honors Winning NHS Teams [VIDEO]

In ceremonies at the start of Monday's meeting, the Narragansett Town Council honored the girls' basketball team and the cheerleading squad.

With family and friends looking on, the Narragansett High School girls’ basketball team and the cheerleading squad were recognized Monday night by the Narragansett Town Council for their division titles.

The girls’ basketball team won the Division II title on March 10. Cheerleading won the Small Division title the next day, the third straight title for the school.

Coaches Kathryn Mahoney and Kristen Razza made brief remarks for their respective teams. The ceremonies took about 20 minutes at the start of Monday’s three-hour meeting, which following a one-hour work session.
