Carradini Appointed Principal of The Prout School

David J.A. Carradini replaces the retiring Gary Delneo.

Rev. Thomas J. Tobin, the bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Providence, has appointed David J.A. Carradini, a seasoned religious educator, as principal of the Prout School.

The Prout School is a Catholic high school in Wakefield that serves more than 600 students through a comprehensive educational program rooted in college preparatory academics.

Following a national search of many highly qualified candidates, a search committee recommended Carradini to the bishop. He will assume his new position on July 1. Carradini replaces Principal Gary Delneo, who is retiring at the end of this academic year.

“With the unanimous recommendation of the search committee, I am pleased to appoint David Carradini as principal of The Prout School,” Tobin said. “David’s significant Catholic and academic credentials position him well to help students witness, share and grow in their faith community. I would also like to recognize Gary Delneo’s many years of dedicated service to the faculty and students as principal of Prout.”

“The Prout School's commitment to the Catholic Faith and to the International Baccalaureate creates a singular opportunity for educational advancement in Rhode Island and all New England,” Carradini said. “I am humbled and glad to have been chosen to lead the Prout School as it moves to the next levels of academic excellence.”
