Woonsocket Man Indicted For Sexual Assault At Peace Dale Library

According to the bill of indictment, Hicham El Majni, 37, is scheduled for arraignment in Washington County Superior Court on Aug. 14 on a charge of second degree sexual assault

The Washington County Grand Jury today reported an indictment charging Hicham El Majni, 37, of 737 Manville Road, Woonsocket, with one count of first degree sexual assault and one count of second degree sexual assault.

El Majni, whose address at the time of the incident was the Welcome House shelter, 8 North Road, Wakefield, RI, was and charged with first-degree sexual assault after a 44-year-old woman reported he had assaulted her in the bathroom at the Peace Dale Library.

According to reports, El Majni allegedly admitted to committing the assault. Both El Majni and the victim were residents of the Welcome House, and had known each other for about a week prior to the assault.

El Majni is being held without bail at the ACI and is scheduled to be arraigned in Washington County Superior Court Aug. 14.
