Narragansett's The Towers Receives Funding for Superstorm Sandy Repairs

The Rhode Island Historical Preservation & Heritage Commission announced the funding Monday during a meeting with lawmakers at the Towers.

The Towers—the iconic Narragansett landmark—will receive a share of $2.5 million for repairs for structural damage caused by Superstorm Sandy.

The Associated Press reported Monday the Rhode Island Historical Preservation & Heritage Commission announced the funding during a meeting with lawmakers at the Towers.

The Towers will receive $57,820 to repair the roof, which was damaged during the storm, according to the Providence Journal.

The $2.5 million will also help pay for archaeological surveys and lighthouse repairs along the coast, the AP reported.
