Supplemental Gansett Police Reports: September 2 to 6, 2012

Unless otherwise noted, information about the following incidents was supplied by the Narragansett Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

These reports were procured via records requests. The arrests were not included in the originally printed media packet, either because of ongoing investigations, vacations for commanding officers or mistakenly by oversight.

Narragansett Man Charged With Trespassing

Michael S. Larson, 22, of 64 Wampum Road, Narragansett, was arrested at about 10:04 p.m. on Sept. 2 and charged with trespassing.

According to police, they received a report from community service officers about a man making inappropriate comments to people at Narragansett Town Beach.

Police said they spoke to the man – Larson – on Ocean Road near Turtle Soup. When asked about his inappropriate comments, he allegedly told police that he was talking about the four F’s.

According to police, Larson had an active no-trespass order for the town beach, stemming from a report on July 23 that he was flashing a knife at the beach.

Based on several witnesses identifying Larson at the beach, he was arrested without incident. Police also noted that Larson had a court-ordered curfew of 9 p.m., based on past arrests.

Peacedale Man Charged With Disorderly Conduct

Marcus Drew Robinson, 29, of 88 Dam St. Peacedale, was arrested at about 2:34 p.m. on Sept. 6 and charged with disorderly conduct.

According to police, at about 1 a.m. on Sept 2., they received a report of a disturbance at the Bon Vue Inn.

A bouncer told police at that time that Robinson had punched him in the face for no reason. The bouncer said he was familiar with Robinson because he had been a longtime resident of the area. The owner of the Bon Vue also told police that he wanted a no-trespass order issued for Robinson.

Police said Robinson was called about the incident, and he turned himself in on Sept. 6.

URI Students Cited for Transportation of Alcohol by a Minor

- Alix M. Dorgan, 20, of 24 Spruce Ave., Narragansett, was cited at about 8:47 p.m. on Sept. 3 and charged with transportation of alcohol by a minor. Police said Dorgan is a student at the University of Rhode Island.

According to police, an officer traveling on Point Judith Road near Fisherman’s Memorial Campground noted a Subaru with a faulty rear plate light. A traffic stop was made near Houston Avenue as a result.

Police said that during the stop, a case of beer could be seen on the passenger side floorboard.

A background check of the driver – Dorgan – revealed that she was underage, and police confiscated a 12-pack of Stella Artois beer and a bottle of Beefeater gin as a result. Dorgan was cited for the alcohol, and warned for the plate light.

- Richard J. Acerra, 20, of 819 Ocean Road, Narragansett, was cited at about 9:12 p.m. on Sept. 3 and charged with transportation of alcohol by a minor. Police said Acerra is a student at the University of Rhode Island.

According to police, an officer monitoring traffic on Boston Neck Road near Bonnet Liquors saw an SUV leave the lot with a defective rear license plate light. As a result, a traffic stop was made near Johnson Avenue.

Police said that during the stop, a six-pack of Bud Light and a bottle of wine were visible on the backseat. A background check of the driver – Acerra – revealed that he was only 20, and he was cited for the alcohol.

- Patrick T. Brehio, 20, of 2 Penobscot Trail, Narragansett, was cited at about 9:56 p.m. on Sept. 3 and charged with transportation of alcohol by a minor. Police said Brehio is a student at the University of Rhode Island.

According to police, an officer driving on Point Judith Road near John Street saw a black Honda Civic swerving. As a result, a traffic stop was made after the car turned on to Saltaire Avenue.

Police said that during the stop, two bottles of Barefoot wine could be seen by the feet of a passenger. The wine was confiscated by police, and Brehio was cited.
