South Kingstown Native Killed in Ohio Crash

Zakaria M. Tefft, 31, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was killed Friday.

A South Kingstown native was killed in a crash on Interstate 71 in Ohio Friday night.

Zakaria M. Tefft, 31, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was driving when another driver said he looked down to adjust his radio and lost control and struck Tefft's car, the Columbus Dispatch reported.

Tefft was born in South Kingstown, according to his obituary. He leaves behind a fiancee.

He was a manager for retailer H&M and started a business called "It's Never New Furniture" in the Pittsburg area.

"He loved his family, friends, music, art, and animals," his obituary reads. "His contagious smile and presence would light up a room.  He enjoyed making people laugh and quickly became everyone's friend."
