South Kingstown man Charged with DUI while on Probation for Narcotics

State Police said Alessandro Baccari, 21, was drunk and crashed on Route 95 in Warwick.

The State Police charged a 21-year-old South Kingstown man with driving under the influence after she was in an accident on Route 95 in Warwick on Sunday.

Police said Alessanro Baccari, of 606 Shannock Road, was free on bail for a Nov. 2013 cocaine possession charge from Narragansett Police at the time of the accident. He failed a field sobriety test at the scene.

He later refused to submit to a chemical test at the Wickford Barracks and was held overnight before his arraignment before Judge Robert K. Piraglia in Third Division District Court the following day.

Baccari was released on $1,000 personal recognizance on condition he enter a drug and alcohol treatment program. He was also issued summonses for refusing a chemical test and speeding.
