SK Cop Log: Dangerous Drivers

The following is based on reports from the South Kingstown Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

The South Kingstown Police Department made the following arrests:

Alec M. Ianelli, 19, of 1801 Matunuck Schoolhouse Road, South Kingstown, was charged with failing to stop after an accident and driving on a suspended license Nov. 6 after he allegedly rear-ended another car on Kingstown Road, then took off.

The victim’s rental car was stopped behind a school bus that was letting children off. Ianelli reportedly accelerated through a stop light and failed the stop behind the bus, ramming a silver Dodge Avenger with his gold Toyota before continuing northbound on Kingstown Road. The next day, police made contact with the Toyota’s owner — reportedly Ianelli’s girlfriend — who told officers Ianelli had been driving her car and had admitted getting in an accident. When police caught up with Ianelli later that day, he told them he did not think there was any damage to the car he reportedly hit, nor any injuries to the driver.

Fallon Rodrigues, 20, of 212 Lenox Ave., Providence, was charged with failing to stop after a car accident after she allegedly rear-ended another car on Kingstown Road.

The victim told officers she was turning left onto Rolens Drive when Rodrigues slammed into at high speed from the rear. Both cars were reportedly badly damaged, and the airbags had been deployed in the silver Nissan Rodrigues was driving. That reportedly did not stop her from turning around and heading north on Kingstown Road at about 5 mph until she was out of site of the others car.

Stephanie Dorce, 22, of 1668 Chalkstone Ave., Providence, was charged with driving with a suspended license on Nov. 7 after she reportedly hydroplaned on wet pavement and crashed into rocks and brush by the side of Stony Fort Road. Officers issued Dorce a court summons at South County Hospital, where she was being treated for her injuries.

Gian L. Paolella, 22, of 50 Cavalier Drive, East Greenwich, was charged with driving with a suspended license after an officer ran his plates because he was allegedly driving 30 mph in a 25 mph zone on Main Street in Wakefield. The officer found the car’s registration had been suspended, as had Paolella’s license.

Eric Dean, 19, of 90 Killingly St., Providence, was charged by University of Rhode Island Police, with domestic assault, disorderly conduct and vandalism on Nov. 7. South Kingstown Police provided a cell for Dean to be housed in until his court hearing the next morning. Dean arrived at SKPD with an injured hand, which URI officers said he hurt punching a window in Browning Hall, a residence hall on campus.

Shannon Wood, 41, of 128 Old Shannock Road, Charlestown, was charged with misdemeanor larceny.

Bruce Carpenter, 47, of 296 Moonstone Beach Road, Wakefield, was arrested at his home Nov. 6 on a 3rd District Court bench warrant.
